Recognizing the need for more accountability and intense scrutiny in the hoof care world, a group of 15 experienced Natural Hoof Care Practitioners from the school of hard knocks gathered to form a Peer Review list of professionals on 8-8-2006. They have since evaluated each other's work, history and professionalism. On 9-6-06 they voted for each other's presence on this list, and from here are currently forming the American Hoof Association.

The American Hoof Association is not a school, but will be a democratically managed Membership Organization designed to carefully and continually evaluate the performance of hoof care professionals. If you are an experienced hoof care professional and are interested in becoming a part of this organization, leave your politics at the door. This is about sound, healthy horses and the people who make them that way and keep them that way. Start working on a bio,  gathering case studies and pictures of your work, a video (preferably DVD) of you trimming 1-2 horses while explaining what you are doing and why; then contact us with your information at info@americanhoofassociation.org .
